In Axie Champions, your Axies are NFTs stored in your Ronin wallet, and they take center stage in your gameplay. Even if an Axie isn’t being used, its corresponding Champion can still join the battles, albeit without receiving stat bonuses.

Champion grades are pivotal, as they significantly impact the strength and potential of your Champion. But how are these grades determined? It all starts with a little luck. When you obtain a Champion through gacha draws, its grade is determined. Generally, higher-grade Champions are designed to be more potent than their lower-grade counterparts. So, while a 2-star Max Level Axie can be formidable, it might still fall short when compared to a 3-star Level 1 Axie.

Upgrading Champions is where you truly take control of their power. Within the team editing menu, you can enhance your Champion’s abilities. This process consumes Gold, and you can further boost your upgrade success rate with Flame items.

Fusion is another intriguing aspect of Champion progression. When you have two Champions at Level 10, you can fuse them to obtain a Level 1 Champion of the next grade. What’s fascinating is that the parts you acquire from the fused Champion are randomly selected from the two original Champions.

Champion grades and levels aren’t just for show — they influence your Champion’s skills. As you ascend in grade and level, the damage your Champion’s skills deal also increases. It’s a dynamic system that rewards players for their commitment and progress.

If you want to acquire more Champions, there are several avenues to explore. Completing missions or participating in league matches can earn you Champions (Champion Capsule, precisely) as in-game rewards. But if you’re eager for a bit of variety, you can head to the in-game store and spend Rune Stones on more Champion capsules, which provide random-grade Champions from one star to four star with random-parts combinations.
